Take 363

7 Quick Takes Friday
--- 1 ---
I've been trying to find a rocking chair in our eBay market here in Hamburg for months... pretty much since I found out I was pregnant. Last weekend, I told Brian that I simply couldn't find what I was looking for... Yup. Took him 20 minutes. 1 day later I was sitting in my new leather glider with a foot rest... and 5 days later I took my first nap in it.

Brian brought home a beautiful Chinese piece of artwork--filled with Chinese text--that he put up last week in our stairwell. It's really beautiful. I'm happy to report that Google translate has helped us once again:

In the case of your quasi-snow damage, Nolin Chunshou Color City + Hall Ruse

"I'm not a doctor, but I did play one on TV." This is just another classic line from my life that I didn't really understand until I finally googled and read this. Clever. Really clever.
--- 4 ---
I happened upon a Go Green and be eco-friendly link this week that talked about restaurants in Italy using pasta instead of straws. People. The restaurant Italian Oven was doing this in the mid-1990s in Steubenville, Ohio. Of course, I had to ask my family to remind me of the name because I was probably 10 years old at the time... they were going green a long time ago. :)

Read a good book lately? Read a good book with your kids? This article was just a friendly reminder from Anna Keating... to keep on reading.
--- 6 ---
Brian and I have been enjoying past seasons of The Office. And man. It's hilarious.
--- 7 ---
Motherhood is all sorts of all sorts. This week I read the helpful (and unattributed) quote, "Your kids don't need a perfect mom, they need a happy mom." Lots to chew on. Lots to think about.

Happy Friday!
