Take 302

7 Quick Takes Friday
--- 1 ---
Guys. Thanks to an upcoming date with my Love, I needed clothing. I just went to the mall exactly 1.75 hours before it closed. And yes, I bought a dress, 2 pairs of shoes, and an ice cream.

I win.
--- 2 ---
You know that terrifying moment when you open your ice cream and they're advertising on the inside of your ice cream container for their lactose free ice cream line and you think, "OH NO! Did I buy ice cream without MILK?! What a nightmare!!"
Oh. Just me?
Pass the dairy.
--- 3 ---
Speaking of dessert, I made this pound cake this week... and it was good. But mostly? I whipped 8 egg whites at once. That was an unbelievable moment. 8. Egg whites. It almost overflowed the edge of my kitchen aid. Amazing. Also, who was the first person to think about whipping egg whites? I don't know--but you're amazing.
--- 4 ---
At what point do you think it's appropriate to tell your daughter that we've purchased tickets to be a at a Justin Timberlake concert for our daughter's 3rd birthday

Asking for a friend.
--- 5 ---
Speaking of Rowan's birthday, I asked Rowan what kind of cake she wanted. She gave me some Mom-Win answer like "PINK!" and then George threw me under the bus and said, "Rowan! Don't you want a SKYE Paw Patrol cake?!"

YES! She yelled. She does!

I'll keep you posted on that. I'm still hoping George offered to make it, though.

This week we were driving to school and the kids said, "I can't hear it!" which translates to, "Turn it up!" And then they said, "I like it!" And I said...

That's Elton John.
--- 7 ---
Today is my last day of work for 2 weeks! The kids are required to take 3 consecutive weeks off from the Kita and Brian and I started tallying my vacation days for the year... and I can take two weeks off with them! We didn't really confirm this plan before a few weeks ago, which means it feels extra special because I haven't been counting on it since January. This is one of the perks of not being in the US with two weeks of holiday to space out over the whole year... I get to treat the next two weeks and a day like an actual summer with my kids... and since we only get 18 summers with each them... BRING IT. I'm so excited!

Brian shared this article with me--and I'm going for it. Playtime. Downtime. Family Time.

Happy Friday!
