About

Hi! I'm happy you're here!

This is my home on the internet and it's here in order to keep a record of life, in addition to the many musings and questions rattling inside my brain. If you go back into the archives, you'll see my blogging beginnings with life in college, to mission work in Indianapolis, to full time employment. Presently, you'll find me happily building family life with the people I love. Mostly, I want to find joy amidst my everyday, and this blog helps me to do that.

We're a bunch of redheads here at CouchofRed, and we hope you enjoy your stay!

Me:
 My favorite man:
And we have two fabulous redheaded children...
A boy first (2014) and a girl (2015)

And because all of my favorite bios include random facts:
  • I was taught how to crochet with a group of girlfriends when I was 8 and I still enjoy picking up small projects every once in a while.
  • I've always counted stairs (silently, in my head--promise!) when going up or down. Then I had children. Haven't done that since.
  • I hate when the windows are down in a car and hair touches my face.
  • Oxo containers make me and my pantry very happy.
  • Peppermint Mocha, no whip, no froth, milk to the top, half pumps of chocolate and peppermint. My drink. My splurge. (And yes, you can always tell who is a former barista.)
  • I love to read, but never seem to read as much as I think I do.
  • I studied finance in college and loved it. 6 years after I graduated, I began my first job in the financial world... and I love it. Go figure.
  And last, but not least...
  • I once told my husband (when he wasn't my husband) that redheads are never attracted to other redheads...
I was 17.
And very wrong. Isn't that always the way? :)

I hope you enjoy your stay!

  1. I count stairs!! Just not as well as I used to. :D Sometimes I start but don't finish or I'll start counting midstairs...

  2. Totally hear you on peppermint mochas and the reading thing. My Nook, Kindle and actual books are all crying from lack of attention (found your blog through 7QT by the way) good to meet you!
