Take 356

7 Quick Takes Friday
--- 1 ---
Hi, Friends! I can't tell you how glad I am to be reporting back! I have spent more than a week with a body that simply wouldn't work for me. Today was the first day in over a week where I woke up withOUT a headache and I was so excited about it! Being sick is tiring. LOL. Happy to be healthy and back out walking and enjoying life.
--- 2 ---
Speaking of walking... I hope you're enjoying lots of walks in this season! I can't help but swoon!
--- 3 ---
We also found a way to soak up the season for Autumn Break in Winterberg--a town in southern Germany. It was my first foray to the southern half of Germany and I was unbelievably charmed by both the small ski resort town and the amazing views through the mountains on the way there.
--- 4 ---
It was about a 4-hour drive to get there and I have to tell you... I thought my kids were crazy, but I can officially confirm that if you make these homemade granola bars, they will absolutely smell like McDonald's french fries when you open the bag in the car. It's eerie.
--- 5 ---
I finally finished The Little Book of Hygge while sitting in the evenings in Winterberg with a cocktail, candles lit and Gregory Alan Isakov playing softly (thanks to the music recommendations found in the book). I. Loved. It. Totally readable even though it's kind of an "informational" book.

One of my favorite ideas? Having a "Pantry Party" where each guest (and the host) bring the ingredients to make a fridge item (like jam, relish, homemade ketchup and chicken stock) along with a bunch of jars. You all cook together, and then in the end, everyone brings small amounts of each item home for their pantry/fridge. So cool.
--- 6 ---
I am too many years late in enjoying popular things... but we finally finished watching "Hamilton" (thank you, Disney+), and I have to say: being way too under informed about history is perfect when it comes to movies... I get to finish these movies and I have no idea what's going to happen. I'm laughing. But I'm also embarrassed.
--- 7 ---
Last but not least... we left for a short vacation and we had 3 fish... we came home to two. This led to a quick Google search, "Do Guppies eat each other". The answer wasn't no.

Happy Friday!
