Take 386

7 Quick Takes Friday
--- 1 ---
In these strange times, where we all seem to spend more time cooking and baking, it occurred to me that I have a super power. Yes, that's right. A super power. My super power is picking the correct pot lid on the first try. Every time. I'm basically super human.

Need some good news? I know John Krasinski has been sharing that good news... but also, watch this video. The dignity of every person. So important.

My Dad used to always say to me, "It's a long way to Tipperary." when I'd trip. In my child's way of explaining things in my head, I always assumed this was a play on words: When you TIP over, you trip... and then you make the word TIP fun with ERARY.

Well, I randomly figured out this week that Tipperary is actually a place... THEN, I finished listening to the audio book Maisie Dobbs and she sings the song "It's a long way to Tipperary."

Guys. How much  more do I think I know that I in fact do not know? Probably practically everything. sheesh.

I bought this back and neck heater last week because it finds a way to heat the tops of my shoulders--the part of me that always has the most tension. And I'm a fan. And yes, if you video chat with it on (ask my sisters), you look like an evil Disney character with that high neck. LOL. #Winning

I polled a bunch of friends on Facebook regarding the best app for To Do Listing and reminders. You see, Apple Reminders had a glitch with the most recent iOS update on the iPhone. In one day, I updated my iOS and next thing I knew, I lost 48 reminders. And yes, I'm the kind of person who doesn't know which way is up without my reminders app.

So, after getting some advice, I chose "To Do Ist" and got busy adding my 48 tasks--not a small job. Within days I realized that this app simply does NOT remind you. It's just a running list. It never dings or buzzes or reminds. It's just a list... UNLESS YOU PAY. 3.99 per month.

So apparently I'm cheap. But I feel like if you have an app, SURE, create reasons for people to pay... but if your app is a list of things to do and you won't even REMIND your client of these without paying... it's just ridiculous. Am I alone in this? Am I just cheap and should pay?

To Do Ist confirmed that this is the case and gave me a free month of Premium to test it out. Kind of them... but I'm back to trying to figure out how to sync my MacBook, iPhone, iCloud and Apple Watch Reminders...

I guess I'm done writing my book about that. Sorry. But Jen did ask for my feedback on what I found. If you're willing to pay, To Do Ist is just fine. I'm holding out that I can still make Reminders work... but it's stressful.

Have you seen the Wooden Desk from National Treasure 2? We watched that on Disney + last week and I was absolutely mesmerized. So cool. It's not in English, but you can see the desk here.

Speaking of cool designs... Designers should be required to clean everything they design. Check out our ridiculous cappuccino machine... drives me crazy to clean it. I'm positive not one of those people who designed it has ever cleaned it.

Happy Sunday!
