Take 374

7 Quick Takes Friday
--- 1 ---
Happy Maternity Leave to me! Now that we're back into our routine, I'm finding myself facing the reality: I'm not going back to work. For a year. It's hard to predict how this will make one feel... but I've been realizing that this is my first ever attempt at full-on "Stay at Home Mom" life... Kind of crazy.
Also a tale of "Learning how to do photography"... Worth the effort.

With 2 kids in school and one month until the third kid arrives, you better believe I have goals. I have a to-do list for almost every room of the house: empty and clean that bathroom drawer, find a place to hang that mirror, organize my bedside table, dust my kitchen light fixture... You know. The important stuff.
--- 3 ---
But I'm also realistic. My main goal? Survive and get strong physically for the next month and then push the baby out. Everything else is just a bonus.

Something that I'm ecstatic about is that as a working mama, I've always had a lot of wishful lists for post-bedtime and on the weekends. But realistically, I also needed that time as down time and was forever feeling torn and guilty. I have transitioned my whole Reminders List so that absolutely no items go off in the evening (except floss. Because I might be grown up, but I still need encouragement to get that tiny task done). For this morning person, I'm really happy about that. I am grateful for guilt-free relaxing evenings.
--- 5 ---
But my first day of leave with the kids in school... I napped from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Because I'm determined to get quality sleep before the due date is here. I could literally kiss the outdoor metallic shutters that close over our bedroom windows and make it... as good as midnight at any time of day. So genius.

This year we watched The Grinch with Benedict Cumberbatch for the first time. It has quickly become the most requested Christmas movie here... and I'm not complaining. I've seen Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer more than a few times and let's just say... it's dated.
--- 7 ---
How are your resolutions going? Did you make any? Last year I did a new resolution for each month and I'd like to do that again... but I'm leaving myself alone for a few months. #SeeTake1 #andTake2 #andmore #Baby!

Happy Friday!
