Take 373

7 Quick Takes Friday
--- 1 ---
Whew! Merry Christmas! I'm so happy to report that the Christmas present procurement adventure is complete. I think I enjoyed it the least this year with all of my personal "deadlines" added to it... But we made it! And, it was a lovely celebration that is far from over. No one goes to school this week or for most of next... so we're in full-on vacation mode.
--- 2 ---
We don't have everything set up for the new baby (Ahem, my job for next month), but we do have a changing table out thanks to our generous neighbors giving us one... and I must say: it's the absolute best place for wrapping presents! It's wide, at the right height, and simply perfect. (And yes, when you live internationally, you do more wrapping because it's easier for us to order gifts from loved ones for us.)
--- 3 ---
On the same topic, I learned a valuable lesson this year: wrap the big gifts first. LOL. Thankfully, we didn't have a wrapping paper emergency on the 24th when the stores were closed... but I won't save those big gifts until last next year.

Last week I blogged about my #pregnancybrain cookies... and I'm happy to report that I made 2 kinds of cookies this week with much success. I have one more type on the docket and with 2 other kinds of cookies made for us by students at our school for a bake sale... we've been more than saturated with sweets. So grateful. I love cookies.

Did you get any fun gifts this year? 3 big huge cheers for my husband who surprised me with a replacement Apple Watch! I'm so grateful! I look forward to having it in the new year with a new baby so that I can "lose" my phone in my house and know when I'm getting a text, phone call, or just ping my phone to find it. LOL. Ok ok. I'm also glad that it's already bugging me about being more active.

Did you travel over the holidays this year? Check out this fun slideshow series from the NYTimes about lost luggage on the German train system... I found it quite entertaining.
--- 7 ---
We celebrated the third day of Christmas today with a trip to a pool--our first time visiting a pool in Germany since we moved here 2.5 years ago. Our kids love to swim and today was so fun! Thanks to my parents for sending us there as their Christmas present to us.

In other news, I just had to share what they had in the family changing rooms:
Yup. A crib. hah. Sometimes Germany is just a winner.

Happy Friday!
