Household Life

This fall in the Work College, we are focusing on households. There are six of us in Colfax: Lisa, Margaret, Anne, Catherine, Laura, and I. We have Theresa B. and Kate Z. going to IUSB and ND as freshmen this year, who we get to see and live life with as well. Dad's post gets at what I've been thinking about for the last few weeks: there is a lot to do and we want to do what the Lord is doing, with Him, the way He does it. And yes, in household life that means chores on Saturdays, planning meals, getting the mail, deciding when and how to spend time together, etc.

"Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that" (Ephesians 5:1-2, The Message).
